How to Create Google Drive Hosted Courses Using Tutor LMS?

Hosting large course files on WordPress can slow down your site. With Google Drive, you can host videos and documents externally and embed them into Tutor LMS lessons. This keeps your site fast and storage-free.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to connect Google Drive with Tutor LMS to create smooth, high-performing online courses.

Step-1: Install & Activate Necessary Plugins

To integrate Google Drive with the Tutor LMS plugin, you have to Install & Activate both the Connect Drive & Tutor LMS plugins inside your WordPress website.

  • Navigate to Plugins > Add New.
  • Search for both plugins one by one.
  • Click Install and then Activate them one by one.

Step-2: Enable Tutor LMS Integration

  • Navigate to the Connect Drive plugin from the WordPress dashboard.
  • Go to Settings > Integrations.
  • Enable Tutor LMS.
  • Click Save Changes.

 

Step-3: Enable Google Drive Preferred Video Source

  • Navigate to Tutor LMS > Settings > Course
  • Tick Google Drive as the Preferred Video Source
  • Save Changes.

 

Set up Course Using Tutor LMS

To set up & configure the course using Tutor LMS v3.0, follow the guidelines below:

Step-1: Create Course

To create a Course using Tutor LMS, follow the guidelines below:

  • Navigate to Tutor LMS > Courses > Add New.
  • Enter the course title, description, excerpt, course settings, and many others.

 

Step-2: Set Google Drive Course Intro Video

You can also add the Course Intro Video hosted on Google Drive. Follow the guidelines below to set the course intro video on Tutor LMS.

  • From the Intro Video section, click on the Add from URL button.
  • Select Google Drive from the drop-down selection.
  • Click on the Select from Google Drive button.
  • Select the Course Intro Video from the instructor’s linked Google Drive account.
  • Choose Video Type: Embed or Direct Media.

 

Step-3: Set up Course Topic

To set the course topic, follow the guidelines below:

  • To add a course topic, navigate to the Curriculum tab.
  • Click on the Add Topic button.
  • Click on Add New Topic.
  • Enter the Topic Name and Topic Summary.
  • Click the OK button to add the inserted topic.

 

Step-4: Set up Course Lesson

  • To add a course lesson, click on the Lesson button from the Curriculum tab.
  • Enter Lesson NameLesson ContentFeature Image, Set Google Drive course video, Exercise Files, and others.
  • Save & Publish the Course.
